Be a Politically Literate Citizen

As the famous saying states, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Choose your leaders very carefully. The people we have elected in recent years are making decisions that threaten our entire planet with war mongering, igniting hatred of one person against another, often in the interest of personal greed rather than public welfare.

If you are politically illiterate, talk to someone sensible. Learn to understand which leaders and policies can genuinely make a positive difference in people's lives.

Don't fall prey to fake propaganda, empty promises, or Jumlas. Look beyond the speeches, slogans, and emotional appeals. Understand the policies, the roadmap, and the vision of every leader you support.

Ask yourself:

  • What is their vision for a better future?
  • Will their policies protect our freedom and democratic rights?
  • Will they improve our quality of life?
  • Will they create better opportunities to earn a living for ourselves and our children?
  • And most importantly, how exactly will they achieve what they promise?

As the famous quote goes:

"The price of apathy towards public affairs is to be ruled by evil men." — Plato

Remember, your entire life is influenced by the decisions made by the people you elect. From the cost of living and education to employment, healthcare, freedom, and the future of your children, their decisions shape almost every aspect of your existence.

But also, never forget that a healthy democracy requires citizens who question those in power.

Ask hard questions. Demand accountability. Challenge propaganda.

And to ask hard questions, you must be politically literate—not a political idiot who blindly follows a leader, no matter what they do.

Don't be a blind follower. Be an informed citizen. Your future, and the future of your children, depends on it.
