If we closely
observe discussions of people around us, we must notice most of the people talking
directly or indirectly, like this:
"How
beautiful was my childhood!!" or
"How
beautiful were the school days!!" or
"How
beautiful were the college days!!" or
"How beautiful
were the beginning of my job!!" and so on.
In these points
one thing is always clear that these people were never satisfied with their
present.
Now question arises that why most of the people see their past as beautiful and present as something what they don't like? One of the many reasons is this: we are living in a class society where work is alien thing for working people and they sell their work in order to live their life. At every moment they feel like a commodity sanding in the market for sell, and they keep living their present life in an unknown fear and uncertainty for future, that is why they always look past as something better than present and future.

At every moment they feel like a commodity sanding in the market for sell, and they keep living their present life in an unknown fear and uncertainty for future, that is why they always look past as something better than present and future.
Now what we
need to understand is this: in deed every working class individual lives in the
illusion of freedom, in the control of forces external to his own existence.
How? Because, he doesn’t possess the product of his own work, his work belongs
to the buyer of his labor power; his life activity (work) and his own existence
are sold in the hands of capitalist buyers in the labor market. Everything that
is human in him is sold in the market like animals. This indirect slavery of
working people and illusion of absolute freedom, together produce this
nostalgic thinking among class-unconscious sections of working population and
their generations.
To overcome this
illusion and become free from external forces require some work to understand
the driving force of the society. Every moment in our life is a step towards
the understanding of present world in order to change it for better. Every day
is an opportunity for us to learn for better understanding of the world we are
living in. As we all learn from past works of many people and keep on summing
up our own past experiences, and based on those experiences keep trying to make
present acts better. But, nostalgia to appreciate only past is the result of unrealistic
world view, people look at world while standing on their heads, as
they don’t understand the economic and political system of the society so they
feel that some unknown force is driving everything in their life and so they
only feel satisfied with what has already passed in their past. This is one of
the big reasons behind superposition and supernatural religious beliefs that
give opportunity to many religious and ‘art of living’ Guru’s to run their
business over this fear of people. But, it is not natural
way of thinking for common men; it is imposed on them by class based
social superstructure in a long historical process that cannot be
otherwise.
So, my friends
don't look backward and don't make impossible attempt to search happiness in
your past, look forward, and explode your whole energy to make a better world
for a better present and better future. In capitalist society one working man cannot
free himself until and unless all will be free from capital and until
men will remain an object of exchange in the market of capital.
